Things To Focus On When You Travel to Pattaya

Thailand has a number of beautiful cities, and Pattaya is one of them. Even if you are on a short corporate golfing trip to Pattaya, you will find that are ample opportunities to make the trip memorable. Pattaya does have the dubious reputation of being the Sin City and a place where people go to enjoy the colourful nightlife. And so most people presume that there will also be a number of unsavoury elements and unsafe situations to deal with while in Pattaya.

But the fact is Pattaya shed its “sleaze” cloak a long time ago. It spruced up its act, made its tourist places and beaches more welcoming and safe for travellers; and today, it’s also considered to be one of the most popular golfing destinations in the world. Golf lovers from across the globe who want to play their game in unique settings; head for Thailand’s scenic greens.

Things to focus on

However just as there are certain things you have to be careful about when you are traveling to any destination, there are some things you need to focus on while in Pattaya as well, such as:

Money

You are sure to have planned everything related to expenses and money when you visit Pattaya. However, it’s best not to convert the entire amount you are carrying into Thai Baht. Convert only half into cash and let the rest of it be in Forex card form; you can of course use your credit card at establishments that accept them.

Maps

If you are visiting Pattaya for the first time and are planning to do some sightseeing on your own; rather than move around with other members of your golfing tour group, it’s best to research all the places you’re planning to visit. There are several modes of transport you can use while in Pattaya many of which are quite inexpensive as well. However, if you don’t research and plan the trip well, you will end up spending significant amounts of money just on private cars or cabs.

SIM/Internationals Calls

Many people make the mistake of activating International Roaming services on their Australian sim cards before leaving on their trip; that can prove to be a major expense as well. The better option is to buy a free traveller SIM at the airport or from any 7-11 store; this will prove to be far cheaper than activating International Roaming.

Buying Necessary Items

If you have forgotten to pack some essentials before leaving on your trip, you can easily purchase things like toothpaste, toothbrushes, medicines etc. at local 7-11 stores and these are situated around every corner.

Safety of your belongings

As part of the corporate golfing trip, you will be staying at a good hotel or resort and generally won’t have to worry about the safety of your belongings while you are there. But you would have to be wary when you are visiting tourist spots or are relaxing on a beach. Never commit the mistake of leaving any of your personal belongings under the supervision of local people as you may just end up losing your things.

Buying unnecessary things

There isn’t much in Pattaya that you can’t find back home in Australia; so it’s best not to spend money on any unnecessary items. Instead, focus on looking for new experiences and visit nearby places of interest; try local foods and drink, go deep sea walking and enjoy the other unique things Pattaya has to offer; that will be money well-spent!!
