Some Tips That Will Help You Improve Your Golfing Setup

When you are playing golf on your corporate golfing trip to Pattaya, you would want to play a good game. While there are a number of different things you can do to improve your skills, here are a few pointers that will give you the results you want:

The Right Golfing Setup Matters

Your setup impacts your entire game and it’s important that you get things right, from the outset. These are the steps you should follow:

Step 1

Ensure your left hip is just over your left foot. When you take this stance, it gives your upper body the chance to shift smoothly to the right and this creates the perfect opportunity to setup for the next step. If you are a left-handed golfer you would have to do just the opposite. Once you have the right stance, let your weight then drop a little, back towards your heels, let your knees relax and your arms hang very comfortably.

Step 2

The next thing to do is to ensure that your left hip & head are just behind the golf ball. You should continue hinging from the hip and make sure you aren’t bending at the waist. When you do the latter, it makes your back round out which does nothing for a good setup posture. It’s also important that you don’t put your weight on the front of your feet; focus on ensuring that your knees aren’t locked.

Step 3

Now put your body in a very sturdy position and prepare for your swing; make your right arm lower and your left arm higher and if you are left-handed, simply do just the opposite. Do not let your shoulder travel in the direction of your ear, or tuck your elbows under. When you follow this particular model, you will find that your setup is improving and that you are able to consistently hit very high quality shots.

Other Things You Can Do

Maintain a good pre-shot routine

You can create your own routine and ensure you follow it before each shot. Once you get accustomed to it, you will feel calmer and your shots will improve too.

Use rain gloves

And we mean even on days when it isn’t raining. You will find they are very useful on sticky, hot summer days. They are especially useful if you suffer from sweaty palms.

Warm up

You should pack a bungee cord and use it for arm stretches just before you tee off; that’s a great way to warm up.

Safety shot

A number of disasters occur from the tee and when you work on playing more consistently, it’s important that you also have a safety shot to rely on. That gives you the confidence that you will make it regardless of the amount of trouble you are in.

Mark the ball

Make it a habit to mark your ball with it head side-up. You should mark it with the tails up only when you’re asked to move that mark off your playing partner’s line.

In addition, you can carry a carpenter’s nail with you to clean inside your golf shoe grooves and it works well as a ball-marking tool as well. You can try these simple hacks to boost your golf playing skills. If you have any questions about golf in Pattaya and our tour packages, you can get in touch with us at Pattaya Golf Trips.
