Today, Pattaya has made its mark on the global map as a golfing destination for pros and novice golfers alike. People travel in large numbers to this coastal city in Thailand to enjoy the experience of playing golf at the many stunning and beautifully-maintained golfing courses in the city.
Many companies also organise corporate golfing trips to Pattaya and this is an excellent way to enjoy a game of golf and interact with your colleagues in a setting that is far removed from the professional office atmosphere. When you are in Pattaya, and are done with your game of golf, you will want to move around and take in the sights and sounds of this vibrant city.
In addition to all the historical places, nightclubs and other entertainment spaces, Pattaya’s beaches are distinctively beautiful. Some of the more popular beaches can get very crowded (weekends particularly so). The one way to enjoy some time at the beaches is to head for those that are quieter and have a more laid-back atmosphere. Here are some of the beaches that become the perfect spots to spend leisurely moments:
#1 Naklua Beach
This beach is only a few kms away from Pattaya Beach, its more famous cousin. However, it’s far more relaxed and calm which makes it the perfect spot for a calm stroll along the edge of the waters. It’s quite close to Pattaya’s hub, but is secluded enough to provide you the break you need from the hustle and bustle of the city. You will see quaint, old homes here that add to the beauty of this beach.
#2 Jomtien Beach
Jomtein once used to have vast expanses of paddy fields; today it has transformed into a stunning and thriving beach. It is situated about 3 kms away from Pattaya Beach and its laid-back atmosphere has made it popular spot for people that want to spend some quiet moments on the sandy beaches of Pattaya. The place has azure waters and clear skies as well as a number of modern accommodations and commodities in the vicinity, which is another advantage of heading for this beach.
#3 Wong Amat Beach
If you want to sunbathe on a secluded beach, Wong Mat is the beach to head for. This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunshine and sandy beach. It is also a very clean beach and is connected to Pattaya Beach at the northern end.
#4 Bang Sae Beach
This beach is situated about 13kms from Chonburi City. While many locals head for this beach, you won’t find too many tourists here. The Water Buffalo Race that is held here in October each year is interesting and you should visit the place if you happen to be in Pattaya around that time. There are a number of snack bars and restaurants where you can get delicious cupcakes, squid and mussels.
#5 Koh Larn (Coral Island)
This place is also popularly known as Coral Island and lies to the South of Pattaya. It is no less than a tropical haven where you will find secluded and pristine beaches, hidden coves and crystal clear waters. There are activities such as snorkelling etc and you also have the option to take short boat trips to islands such as Koh Sak and Koh Phai that are in the vicinity.
#6 Na Jomtien Beach
This beach is connected to Jomtein Beach’s south end and the surrounding area is very upscale. Foreigners and locals that seek privacy often head for this beautiful beach that sports luxurious resorts and restaurants.
